How to learn a language faster than you can say "pomodoro"
Are there ways of improving the speed at which we learn a language? Is there something we can do in addition to what we are already being taught at school? Yes, there is.
It’s called the Back and Forth technique.
The exchange of conversation makes a significant difference in the acquisition of language skills. After all, language is a skill that we learn so that we can communicate with others. The sooner we start practicing this skill in a deliberate way, the better. The more we practice, the better.
Actual conversation interactions – in which the adult and then the child takes turns speaking – has been demonstrated to significantly improve language acquisition skills and development of Broca’s area, the area of the brain significantly involved with producing speech.
So, take risks and speak the language whenever you can.
Also, read foreign books and literature – eBooks and Kindle are particularly helpful here with the translation function.
Watch foreign media: watching a film you enjoy - maybe a classic Harry Potter - in a foreign language or with foreign subtitles could be really helpful.
Thrive on making mistakes – it shows you are learning and pushing the limits of your knowledge – get feedback and thrive on your mistakes!
